Bath eats

We chose to eat all of our meals in pubs (or in one case pub-like) and diving headlong into British foods. Lucky for us, most of the pub foods these days lean into more of a gastropub feel. Here is our recap:

First up upon arrival was a very light lunch at The Architect of some wine, pate and crispy pig cheeks over mash. Great view noted with the Abbey in the distance.

Next up was dinner at Garrick’s Head. Bath Chaps (marinated shredded pork belly deep dried), cornish mussels in cider cream and wagyu burgers. The mussels won the night.

Our choice for Saturday lunch is one of our favorite dishes in the UK…fish and chips at The Scallop Shell. No need to say more.

Saturday dinner took us to The Salamander. Apps of hoisin pork belly bites and ham hock/smoked cheddar croquettes. Entrées of hot smoked salmon cake and parmesan crusted hake.

And last but by no means least was our traditional Sunday Roast. We chose The Hive and had terrific service, wine and lunch all with a view over the river. This one ticked every box and will be long remembered from our weekend in Bath.

Goodbye Bath. Will be taking a train this morning to meet up with our ship…the Island Princess.
