After our first day back in Bath, another beautiful day greeted us for a full day of exploring.
Finally, Bath Abbey
There were things we didn’t get to do on our last visit to Bath, and the first was visiting Bath Abbey. Shocking, honestly, given our penchant for churches. So it was a priority to start this full day of adventure. Constructed in medieval perpendicular Gothic architecture, the Abbey dominates the city center, and every angle reveals it differently. The interior is beautiful, especially the fan vaulted ceiling.

The Botanical Gardens
Following our tour of the stunning Abbey, and given the extraordinary weather, it was off to the Botanical Gardens.

A Rest at the Royal Crescent
That led us up to take a little rest at the Royal Crescent. It’s such an iconic sight, overlooking Royal Victoria Park — perfect for a little rest with a view.

Lunch at the Marlborough Tavern
Lunchtime brought a gin and tonic and some nibbles at the Marlborough Tavern nearby.

Cheese Tasting at The Fine Cheese Company
On our walk back through the city to our hotel, we stopped for a cheese tasting at The Fine Cheese Company. The British cheeses are so full of bold flavors.

One Last Gin and Tonic at Bath Distillery
It was a great day in Bath. We closed it out with one last gin and tonic at the Bath Distillery Canary Bar. They take their gin seriously and make a killer gin and tonic.

Tomorrow, we venture to Salisbury.
