We took a lovely afternoon food tour of downtown Seattle. The food scene is based on fresh, local, organic and sustainable. The base is sort of an elevated comfort food approach. We started at Orfeo for a crispy polenta square with a rich bolognese sauce with a sparkling rose.

Next up was Serious Pie. For the love of all that is sacred, some of the best pizza I ever ate. Tomato and buffalo mozzarella. Fresh foraged mushroom with black truffle cheese.

A stop at Steelhead Diner for razor clam chowder with a white truffle oil finish served with a local sauvignon blanc.

Next up was Heartwood Provisions, a really cool restaurant wherein every dish on the menu had a carefully crafted cocktail as a pairing recommendation. We had wagyu beef jerky with sesame and spicy chili preserve. This was paired with a cocktail made with local sour beer and craft vermouth.

The food finished at Von’s Gastrobistro for their signature housemade sourdough pasta with salmon, mushrooms and a lemon cream sauce. Served with a local beer.

We finished at Fran’s chocolates for some truffles and caramels. Nice afternoon.
