Spent most of our time in port today on a walking food tour with Wake Up Reykjavik. I had no idea how evolved and tasty the cuisine would be. Five delicious stops. The first was a grilled rack of lamb with a mustard herb salsa topping. Super tender and yummy.

Our next stop included a fish soup and fried oyster mushroom tacos. Such interesting flavors.

Our third stop was more lamb and fish…the two mainstays of the Icelandic cuisine. A smoked arctic char on a buckwheat pita and pulled lamb over an egg salad on toast.

The #1 street food of Iceland makes up stop number four…the hot dog. 80% lamb, mustard and horseradish sauce on top and crispy onions underneath. Odd but delicious combo.

Coming up to the last stop was dessert, a rhubarb crumb cake with ice cream…rhubarb is everywhere. This was one of the best food tours we have taken.
