Our last port of call in Iceland in the Northeast.  We started our journey by driving out to Lake Myvatn.

This is a area of considerable volcanic activity over years and years creating the natural beauty that is all around.  We walked through Dimmuborgir, one of the lava fields in the area.  Fascinating structures.

Our next stop was Namafjall Hverir: a geothermal area where the sulfuric gasses and steam “melt” the clay and you get this boiling mud pots.  Super interesting.

Next we drove back through the glacial valleys to Godafoss waterfall.

And then made our way back to the ship with beautiful vistas along the way.
